We have commissioned Coventry based poets to write five new poems over the next few months, and we’re putting their words centre-stage in our Shop Front Theatre windows with our This Is For You exhibition. We asked each of them to respond in their own way to our provocation of new artistic work called Humanistan, which we began in November last year, but have had to postpone the live performance element due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The poets are Shahnaz Akhter, Laura Nyahuye, Andrea Mbarushimana, Lanaire Aderemi and Raef Boylan. The poetry will be in the windows from mid-October 2020 until end of March 2021 with a new poem each month. All poems will be shown together in mid-April so be sure to stop by the Shop Front as you visit the city centre.
