Experience the city centre in new ways

Theatre in shop fronts, pop-up performances in precincts, dancing in the streets – all putting people’s creative talents centre stage. There’s something for everyone to participate in at the first ever edition of Shop Front Festival. We warmly invite you to play, perform and enjoy the two-day city centre celebration.

Shop Front Festival features some of the UK’s most exciting new and established theatre makers and artists working in dance, circus, music, visual and outdoor arts, bringing together creative communities local to Coventry together with those from further afield.

Imagine your visit to Coventry city centre transformed

From 10am on Friday 23 March to 10.30pm on Saturday 24 March, you’ll find immersive and interactive performances and artworks in empty shop spaces, cafes, retail spaces and outdoors.  Most of these are FREE and suitable for people of all ages. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes, star in a melodrama, play in an Actual Reality Arcade and don’t forget to join England’s favourite shopping pastime – queuing!

The Shop Front Festival is supported by Coventry City of Culture Trust, Coventry City Council, Heart of England Community Foundation, Coventry Business Improvement District (BID), Backstage Trust, and 29th May Trust.
