So Zero finally opened this week and it has been playing to packed houses at Warwick Arts Centre. A very good vibe is coming out it - good feedback, and attentive and concentrated audiences who seem genuinely engaged with the play.
Today the first review of the play was from local paper the Coventry Telegraph which awarded the show four stars. See reviews page.
A proud mention for Matt Aston our director on ZERO. Matt has just been given an award from the Writers Guild of Great Britain, for his Encouragement to New Writing, Matt was nominated by Stephen Lowe for his incredible work on Stephen's last play 'Smile'. Well done Matt, we're all smiling for ya!
We are delighted to announce that Joe Hammond is our first ever writer in residence at Theatre Absolute. Joe has been funded by the company and the Arts Council England to be with us during our creation and production of ZERO. It's a chance for Joe to observe our work, and how it's made, and just have time to write and work on his own pieces. Welcome Joe!

Arts Council funding secured to create and tour ZERO, by Chris O'Connell, to be premiered in association with Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry, Autumn 2008.

Oberon books are to publish the playtexts of both Hang Lenny Pope and cloud:burst. Both plays are written by Chris O'Connell. Hang Lenny Pope will premiere at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry, from 12th-17th, March 2007, and then tour. cloud:burst, a one person show, was performed to great success last year, at the Royal Opera House, London, Tobacco Factory, Bristol, and 59E59 Theatre, New York City.
