Wes Finch & The Rude Mechanicals Band 18th November 7.30pm

Shop Front Theatre

Wes Finch & the Rude Mechanicals

The Rude Mechanicals Band uses words penned by Shakespeare and put to fresh, folk and classical inspired tunes which utilise guitar, percussion, violin & viola and double bass. Live shows also incorporate a small group of actors who compliment the music with short speeches, poems and interaction with the band and audience to bring an element of immersive theatre to the whole performance.

The band played live on Radio 3s In Tune programme as part of the Shakespeare 400 celebrations at the RSC in Stratford in 2017 and self released their first album ‘Exit, Pursued by Bear’.

2018 will see the release of further Shakespeare related material and interpretations of other well known and loved poems.

A few words from album reviews:

A gem of an album, combining bittersweet contemporary style acoustic ballads, with Shakespeare’s words and a subtle folk-blues swing. FATEA magazine

“Elements of classical music, jazz, balladry and chanson…neither overtly modern or retro” #COV magazine
